The Sorrow


There are many thoughts that sadden me
I try to swallow them every morn
Sometimes I feel the time thoughts swallow me
From the time that I was born

Perhaps my life before this life
Has darkened my present days
It seems the harder I try to see the light
I am lost deeper in the haze

But today I'll stand tall
My stride will be strong
I’ll greet every caller with a smile
And make right what I’ve done wrong

The light will shine through
My newly opened door
I will hold onto hope
And not let my head hit the floor

My many hurtful thoughts
Will stay hidden deep below
I will cut through the darkening haze
And walk above my sorrow
